DMCC applauds the RTA for their commitment to complete the roads network
in Jumeirah Lakes Towers Free Zone
The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), the licensing authority for the
Jumeirah Lakes Towers ("JLT") Free Zone, thanked the Roads and Transport
Agency (RTA) for its continued dedication to finalising the roads network in
JLT. Recently, the RTA recommenced work to complete the road works within
the JLT Free Zone.
Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman of DMCC, commented: "The RTA has been
a critical partner for the DMCC as we have established and continue to grow
a successful JLT Free Zone. The RTA's support is the recognition of the
importance of this preeminent free zone and DMCC's efforts in enhancing
commodity trade flows through Dubai and thus fulfilling the vision of His
Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum to bring foreign direct
investment to the UAE.
"Not only benefiting the free zone's existing 4500 member companies, the
RTA's completed road network is equally critical for an average of 180 new
companies joining the Free Zone every month and doing business in Dubai.
"We look forward to celebrating the completion of the RTA's design and
implementation of a permanent traffic solution that ensures residents,
workers and visitors have multiple convenient access points to our thriving
community as targeted in May 2013."
Earlier this year, the RTA opened the new Western Parallel Road, running on
the south side of the community and connecting JLT to Al Barsha, Emirates
Hills and The Meadows. The new road has helped traffic flow more smoothly by
providing drivers with additional points of entry to the community.
The RTA's efforts complement DMCC's on-going drive to enhance the JLT Free
Zone. JLT is a growing community with over 50,000 people living and working
in 61 completed towers, landscaping progressing rapidly across the estate
and a range of retail outlets and leisure facilities opening each month.
