The Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone ( RAK FTZ ), one of the fastest-growing and most cost-effective free zones in the UAE; and the Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority (RAKIA), a major provider of investment opportunities and one-stop solutions in its free zones, industrial parks and other ventures; jointly honoured other government entities for supporting the free zones and helping them to grow and succeed over the years.

The RAK Excellence in Government Awards Ceremony took place on 23 April at the Rixos Bab Al Bahr hotel on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah. The ceremony included a brief look at the history of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), an overview of 2013 achievements in the emirate, and the 2014 outlook for both free zones.

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Humaid Al Qasemi, the Managing Director of the RAK FTZ and RAKIA, addressed the gathering, calling it a great opportunity for the strategic partners to network. He also said it was a wonderful occasion for the RAK FTZ and RAKIA to honour their valued partners.

"We thank each and every one of RAK FTZ 's and RAKIA's strategic partners from various government entities for contributing significantly to the economic growth of the emirate, and for assisting us in meeting the expectations of investors who come to Ras Al Khaimah", Sheikh Mohammed said. "This event underscores the concept of cooperation, and highlights the importance of building bridges of communication in all its forms.
