Mohammed bin Zayed meets Egyptian interim president

Mansour at the Presidential Palace in Cairo

General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and
Deputy Supreme Commander of UAE Armed Forces, has met Egypt’s outgoing
interim president Adly Mansour at the Presidential Palace in Cairo. General
Shaikh Mohammed will attend the inauguration ceremony of Egyptian President
Abdel Fattah Al Sisi on Sunday at Al-Ittihadiya presidential palace.
During the meeting, General Shaikh Mohammed conveyed to the Egyptian interim
president greetings from the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin
Zayed Al Nahyan, and his wishes for further progress and prosperity for the
leaderships and people of Egypt.
The two sides discussed the strong fraternal relations between UAE and Egypt
as well avenues of their cooperation with a focus on economic and investment
aspects and UAE-funded development projects in Egypt.
Congratulating the Egyptian interim president on the success of the Egyptian
presidential elections which showed the popular will for resuming work on
implementing the roadmap to Egypt’s future and continuing development and
progress, General Shaikh Mohammed reiterated UAE’s support for the Egyptian
people in the next stage of development and construction.
General Shaikh Mohammed praised the important role of interim president Adly
Mansour during this sensitive and crucial stage of Egypt’s history during
which he was able to take Egypt to a dominated by hope and optimism thanks
to his fully responsible way and honourable positions.
On his part, the Egyptian interim president valued UAE’s development
initiatives in Egypt and thanked the President for his honourable stand for
Egypt and its people as well as his great contributions to supporting
social, economic and development efforts.
Interim President Mansour stressed on the deep historical relations between
UAE and Egypt and the prominent stature of the founding father, the late
Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, in Egypt at the popular and the official
levels. He noted that the existing solid relations have gained further
strength and are in the service of pan-Arab national security.
He requested General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed to convey his sincere
greetings to the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan,
and his best wishes for continuous good health for him and for continuous
progress and growth for UAE and its people.
Dr Sultan bin Ahmed Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State; Khaldoon Khalifa Al
Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority (EAA); Mohammed
bin Nakhira Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Egypt; and Mohammed Mubarak Al
Mazrouie, Undersecretary of the Court of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, attended
the meeting.
